Little Hollywood Movie Museum hosts winning filmmakers

The Little Hollywood Movie Museum is proud that the winning entries from both the ‘Freestyle’ and the ‘Targeted Promotion’ categories of the inaugural Little Hollywood Shootout  chose to make the movie sets in the museum the central location of their comedy laced 5 minute epics built around the theme of High Noon.

The Little Hollywood Shootout is a fast turnaround short film contest where filmmakers get only 49 ½ hours to complete a 5 minute movie after learning the theme and certain required locations chosen to highlight the diversity of landscapes that earned Kane County the moniker of Little Hollywood.

Shootout prizes include a  Sony ex1 Camera rental package from Lumenous; a lighting rental package from Redman; Commercial aired on At Your Leisure;  screenings at special events during Docutah; room and dinner package at world famous Parry Lodge; and even cash.

The filmmakers very quickly stretched their creative muscles and scratched their funny bones in bringing High Noon to Little Hollywood. Check out the movies to have a good laugh.  Check out the museum to immerse yourself in the movie sets to get a kick out of how Hollywood uses illusions to convincing effect and how you can put yourself in the movies.

The Ketchup Kid

Tom Tulac’s The Ketchup Kid took top honors in the Targeted Promotion division with its high camp gun fights being enhanced with animated explosions and its post modern take on sex roles.

Little Western

Ten year old Trevor Black made Little Western   as his first film as director and pulled off a victory in the Freestyle category by mixing elements of silent era films with a wry riff on childhood games brought to bear on an old west duel.
